Zen Hotel is situated at Anaconda Beach, La Paloma. Each well appointed room enjoys a view to the beach, which enables you to make the most of your Summer holiday, or watch the whales at play during winter. The hotel will be open for summer 2010/11

Bio:

Andres & I decided to make a change, and try our hand at his "home" country, Uruguay (he was born here but lived most of his life in Australia). We are currently building a hotel in La Paloma, which will be finished for Summer 2010/11. We are enjoying a different life, by the beach, with both of us getting used to the Uruguayan way!

Spanish Classes in La Paloma~~Hi Bruce!

I used to go to classes with Gaston. He is in Mexico until September, but I... him to the American couple that live here now, and they were happy with him too. Very casual, La Paloma style!

Candombe on Saturday~~Hi Emma

If you get a chance to go to the Museum, ask them about where and when the candombe... indicated times and places. We checked out Barrio Sur on a Saturday afternoon, which was awesome - highly recommended!...

Quad bikes in La Paloma~~Hi Bruce

Well, this info is not going to help you with the law, but I can tell you that quad... most we have seen on one bike is 7 people and a dog!

Hopefully someone can help you with some useful information! ...

Thermal Springs at Dayman~~Elaine, we spent a couple of nights at Dayman last year. Dayman is a small spot, about 10kms... so it was really cold (for us Aussies), but it was really nice to spend time in the water - so nice and warm!

Freezing for this Aussie - but I love it~~Coming from the north eastern part of Australia, I find the winter here... and the wind, we rug up, get outside and enjoy what's around, and then when we get home, enjoy the comfort of the fire!...

Another stained glass location~~Our friend took us on a little bit of a historical tour of the city one day and showed... before it became a casino, it was the building for the newspaper, and before that it was the Presidential House. ...

The ambience in La Paloma~~Don't worry Patrick, I have read some of your posts before, and didn't take the sand dune... about.

And if you do come next year, let me know so we can show you what we are doing and some of the sights.

With regards to the artist village that you were wondering about, there is an area in Rocha... Bruce will see your question, because he teaches Permaculture, and he knows a lot more about the Sierras.

Internet Access & Fresh fruit in Rocha~~Pete

With regards to internet access, I am in La Paloma and have no problems... when the trucks come and make the deliveries (which is pretty standard week to week), and then you can take your pick! ...

I did quite a few Spanish lessons in La Paloma. They run private classes, and it is... I sent you an email with some hotel ideas in La Paloma, let me know if you didn't get it.

Overstaying...~~I have to admit I have left Uruguay twice having overstayed the 90 days (yes I know, very slack - can... it is not something that I am recommending (bit of a disclaimer note there!) - just commenting on my own experiences!...
