Punta del Diablo is a fisherman's village that is already becoming an international seaside resort while keeping its "take it easy" lifestyle. It is situated on the South Atlantic Ocean, 298 km (185 miles) from Uruguay's Capital City Montevideo. The village is 25 miles from the border with Brazil, but the weather, flora and fauna aren't tropical at all. In summer time at night a sweater is necessary.

In this paradise, the contact with nature is a way of life. This place has been featured in the Washington Post, this paper has declared the village a must see place. It has also been recommended by the American Magazine Lonely Planet among the top 20 places to visit looking for a quiet retreat.

The town's architecture is very simple there are wooden cottages everywhere, creating special charm, a South American Cape Cod from the 1950's. You'll find yourself living in a Edward Hopper painting . There are many and very diverse beaches sourounding the cape.There is "playa de la viuda" (widow's beach) with strong waves and white foam a perfect place for surf lovers. On the side of the bay there are 2 beaches Rivero and Pescadores, safeguarded from the wind with calmer water.

In Punta del Diablo, going out to eat seafood is a must do. Because of the abundance of rocks in the cape it's easy to pick up some seaweeds and create a local specialty the seaweed fried platter.
